In Krasnoyarsk, a drunk driver could not escape from the police and went to forced labor

A 30-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk appeared in court for repeated drunk driving.

Last time driver Nissan Pulsar caught by the traffic police crew in July last year. On Daurskaya Street, a motorist ignored the requirement to stop to check documents, drove past and, accelerating, tried to escape. During the pursuit, the man realized that he would not be able to break away from the law enforcement officers; on Montazhnikov Street he turned off the engine, got out of the car and tried to run away, but was detained.

The Krasnoyarsk resident smelled of alcohol; during examination, the readings were 0.72 mg/l. The offender explained that he was at the dacha and was drinking, but suddenly remembered that he might have forgotten to turn off the stove on which the saucepan was standing at home. According to him, he arrived at the apartment, made sure that everything was in order, and decided to return to the dacha. He was removed from driving and placed in a special parking lot.

During the investigation, the police found out that in April 2025, the attacker had already been convicted under a criminal article for driving while drunk and sentenced to 200 hours of compulsory labor with the deprivation of a driver’s license for 24 months. A new criminal case was opened against the repeat offender under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This time the court sentenced him to one year of forced labor and banned him from driving for three years. The sentence came into force, the police said.
