A fire broke out in the port of Vysotsk on the Russian Baltic coast after an attack by Ukrainian drones, Reuters reported on Saturday morning, citing Bloomberg News.

“During the night, anti-aircraft defense destroyed 27 enemy drones,” wrote the Governor of the Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozdenko, on Telegram, who also confirmed the outbreak of a fire in the port area. According to the information he presented, the fire was supposed to be brought under control after a few hours, and the attack did not cause any casualties.
In Vysocko, near Vyborg, there is a fuel warehouse belonging to the Lukoil fuel company and installations for loading tankers. The exact effects of the raid and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
At the turn of March and April, Ukraine carried out a series of attacks on Russian oil infrastructure on the Baltic Sea coast, including: on the port in Ust-Luga and the oil terminal in Primorsk, temporarily suspending their work.
Reuters reported on April 2, citing three industry sources, that a reduction in oil production in Russia is inevitable because Ukrainian attacks on port infrastructure, pipelines and refineries have reduced the country's export capacity by 1 million barrels a day, or one fifth. (PAP)
