Strait of Hormuz closed again. Tehran announced the change of decision

This decision came just a day after Tehran announced a temporary opening of the strait to commercial ships.
The authorities in Tehran emphasized that the blockade of the strait would continue, unless the United States lifts its naval blockade of Iranian ports.

“We cannot allow unilateral actions that threaten our sovereignty,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bager Ghalibaf, warning that Hormuz could be closed again if Washington does not change its position.
Meanwhile, the situation in the region remains tense, despite the ceasefire in the conflict between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance in force since April 8. The ceasefire, which is scheduled to last until April 21, has brought a temporary easing of tensions, but the lack of agreement on key issues, such as the naval blockade, raises fears of further escalation of the situation.
US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that the Strait of Hormuz was temporarily opened to merchant ships, but at the same time announced the maintenance of the naval blockade of Iran until a final agreement is reached. Tehran responded to these declarations with a firm reaction, clearly stating its conditions.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil flows, has long been a flashpoint in relations between Iran and the West. Tehran's current actions, as well as Washington's response, indicate that the situation in the region remains far from stable.
