Iran's supreme leader issues threats after Strait of Hormuz blockade

Shortly after the Iranian military said the Strait of Hormuz had been closed, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen in public since the start of the war, issued new threats in a message published in English on his Telegram channel.
In the statement published on the Ayatollah's channel, Khamenei claims that Iran's navy is ready to inflict “new painful defeats” on its enemies, according to Reuters and AFP.
The statement was released shortly after the Revolutionary Guards announced they were closing the Strait of Hormuz again.
The defiant message from the supreme leader came after hours earlier US President Donald Trump said he had “some pretty good news” on Iran, but declined to elaborate.
But the American leader said that fighting could resume if a peace agreement is not reached by Wednesday, when the two-week truce expires.
