Actress Nadia Fares, known for her role in “The Crimson Rivers”, died after being found unconscious in a swimming pool

Nadia Fares died on Friday night at the age of 57, a week after she was found unconscious in a swimming pool in Paris, her family announced. The French actress was in a coma at the time of the incident, according to AFP, cited by Agerpres.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death, this Friday, of Nadia Fares. France has lost a great artist, but above all we are losing a mother,” her daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman, said. At the same time, they asked for “respect and discretion” during this period of mourning.
Fares died at La Pitié Salpetriere hospital in Paris, where she had been hospitalized since last Sunday, after surfacing unconscious in a private club pool on rue Blanche, 9th arrondissement, Paris.
The actress' daughters told AFP that their mother passed out due to a “heart attack”. Authorities have opened an investigation into his death, but so far no evidence of foul play has been found.
Who was Nadia Fares
Born in 1968 in Morocco, she grew up in Nice before moving to Paris to pursue an artistic career. He made his film debut in the 1990s, collaborating with renowned directors such as Alexandre Arcady, Claude Lelouch and Bernie Bonvoisin.
Nadia Fares achieved international success in 2000 with her role in the thriller “The Crimson Rivers”, where she played a complex dual character alongside Jean Reno.
He continued his career with several Anglo-Saxon action films (“War”, “Storm Warning”), but also in French productions: “Nid de guêpes”, “L'ex-femme de ma vie”.
After a break of several years, she returned to the artistic world in 2016 with the Netflix series “Marseille”, where she stars alongside Gérard Depardieu and Benoît Magimel.
Nadia Fares was preparing to make her first feature film as a writer and director in September.
