“Student Lukic stays on for his master's degree, the striker will evolve in black and white until 2029”, it appeared on the Instagram page of those from U Cluj.
Jovo Lukic is having the best season of his career at U Cluj. The attacking pinnacle of the “red caps” played 34 matches in all competitions, managing to score 20 goals and provide 3 decisive assists. In the domestic championship, he is the leader in the ranking of goal scorers, with 18 successes and 2 assists.
The Bosnian first arrived in Romania at Craiova University, which paid 400,000 euros to Borac Banja Luka for his transfer. The modest developments in Bănie led to the separation in the summer of 2025, when he was brought to U Cluj by Ioan Ovidiu Sabău. For Craiova, Lukic collected 31 matches and only two goals.
The striker is quoted at 1.5 million euros on the specialized website transfermarkt.com.
After the last stage, Mihai Stoica, the president of the FCSB Board of Directors, said that he considers Lukic the best footballer in the championship.
“Look at Lukic, that's where it all boils down. Lukic is perhaps the best player, attention, not the striker! The best player in this championship. I haven't seen him play a bad match, any match without achievements against good teams”, said Mihai Stoica, on the show “Fotbal Show”, from Prima Sport.
