A forum of public observers was held in Krasnoyarsk

17 April 18:50

On April 16 and 17, a forum of public observers was held in Krasnoyarsk at the Rodina People's Friendship House. The participants were representatives of non-profit organizations, the scientific and expert community, the Russian Society “Knowledge”, members of the regional election commission, as well as active residents from municipalities who regularly monitor elections from the public chamber.

The forum is aimed at preparing for the Unified Voting Day 2026. Participants discussed the development of a public surveillance system and improving the qualifications of observers.

Greetings were made by the Chairman of the Association “Independent Public Monitoring” Alexander Brod, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region Alexey Dodatko, Head of the Governor’s Public Relations Department Roman Barinov and Head of the Regional Election Commission Taras Yaskevich.

Alexander Brod noted that the upcoming electoral period will be difficult: information attacks, provocations and sabotage by unfriendly forces are possible. Transparency and openness of elections, according to him, are the key to citizens’ trust in the voting results.

The experts also discussed the political situation in the region. 18 of the 20 parties operating in the country are registered in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Thirteen of them can nominate candidates to the State Duma without collecting signatures, eight – to the Legislative Assembly of the region.

Chairman of the Public Chamber of the region Svetlana Zylevich said that the region has built an effective system for selecting and training observers. During the entire implementation of the project, no violations were identified that could affect the voting results.
