On April 14, at the House of Cinema in Krasnoyarsk, the premiere screening of the documentary film “The Pit”, directed by Nikolai Bem, took place.
The film tells the story of the giant Mir quarry in the city of Mirny in Yakutia, the fate of the people living on its edge, and its possible future. In the film, architect Nikolai Lyutomsky presents his project of an eco-city on the site of this quarry and its possible implementation. Also aboutToday, the main characters are scientists from a secret institute who have been creating closed ecosystems for space for decades.
After the film screening, guests and spectators shared their impressions. According to those present, this film will not leave anyone indifferent.
As the film director Nikolai Bem noted, “The Pit” is a reflection on the past, present and future.
“For me, a giant hole is a symbol of contradiction, an insoluble dilemma of generations. What to do with the hole that we inherited from the last generation? What kind of inheritance is this? Is this a pit for the construction of a new common house that did not exist before? Or a symbol of an inevitable catastrophe on earth, which man creates with his own hands? shared the director.
Let us add that the film is the winner of several major awards at prestigious film festivals.
From April 16, “The Pit” will be released in wide release in cinemas in Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Yakutia.
