Javier Mascherano (41 years old) announced his decision to resign as head coach of the Inter Miami club for personal reasons.
The Argentine confirmed the decision in an official statement, in which he thanked the club, players and supporters for his time in Miami.

I would like to inform you all that due to personal reasons I have decided to end my tenure as head coach of Inter Miami CF.
First of all, I would like to thank the Club for the trust placed in me, every employee who is part of the organization for the collective effort, but especially the players, who made it possible to live unforgettable moments.
I also want to thank the fans and La Familia, because none of this would have been possible without them.
I will always carry the memory of our first star with me and, wherever I may be, I will continue to wish the Club all the best going forward. I have no doubt that the Club will continue to achieve success in the future.

He joined the club in January 2025. In his first season at the helm, Mascherano led Inter Miami to one of the most successful campaigns in the club's history, securing two major trophies, including the club's first MLS Cup title, along with the Eastern Conference championship.
Under his leadership, Inter Miami had a record 2025 season, scoring a total of 101 goals in the regular season and playoffs, the most in a single season in MLS history, including a record 20 goals in the playoffs, while competing in an unprecedented 58 games in all competitions.
Until the appointment of the next coach, Guillermo Hoyos will take over the role of interim coach of the team where Lionel Messi plays.
