Matei Lucescu, the grandson of the late Mircea Lucescu, went to the Football Museum in Bucharest for the first time, where he had the opportunity to discover the impressive collection of “Il Luce” shirts, where all the memories gathered throughout an absolutely sensational career were exhibited.
Răzvan Lucescu's son admitted that his grandfather had wanted to go together to see the collection in the past, but they never found the time.
Now, exactly one week after the great master left us, at the age of 80, Matei arrived at the museum, where he could see the huge legacy left by his grandfather.

Thursday, April 16, there is free entry to the Football Museum in Bucharest, precisely so that people can see Mircea Lucescu's collection of T-shirts
Matei Lucescu's message from the Football Museum: “I'm glad that they have arrived somewhere where other people can also enjoy them”
“We kept talking about coming to see the collection, he insisted we come, but we never got around to it. Honestly, it's the first time I've seen it all on display. Being his T-shirts, he wasn't in the habit of taking them out to look at them. It's the first time for me too when I have the opportunity to see them all on display.
I realize how many there actually are, I didn't even know. It's beautiful and impressive to see the history and physically, not only in pictures, to see that after every match some memories remained, not only pictures. They also put them in chronological order, so you can somehow go through his entire history.
T-shirts from '66 to recent ones, with Messi. I think I've only seen Pele's shirt once, now it's the second time. I knew about it, but I'm glad they ended up somewhere where other people can enjoy them, see them, remember them.
Grandma took care of us, Mircea was busy with football. I can tell you for sure that he took us to all the museums in Europe, I must have seen them all. She took care of teaching us the things that Mircea didn't have time to do.
Lucio is already playing football, we will also see my boy, he is still small, he is three years old, it will take a while before we know if he really likes football, if he is passionate about it. He has a national team kit that my grandfather himself made for him, with his name on the back, and he wears it around the house with great pride. We all took Mircea's number, we all wore the number 11 shirt, as a small tribute to him.
For me he was the grandfather, that's the only way I saw him, not as a football coach, not as a great athlete, but just as my grandfather.
We were all really impressed by the people who came to the vigil, by the scale of the event, by those who helped us organize the funeral, all the support we had during these difficult times.
I kicked off in Giulesti 15 years ago, when my father was a coach. I don't remember which match, I can say that the loop has closed”, said Matei Lucescu, the grandson of Mircea Lucescu, quoted by digisport.ro.
