In the published statement, the NBP reminds that Polish gold reserves have been systematically increasing for several years. He also notes that further investments are planned in the future.
Last Thursday, NBP President Adam Glapiński announced further investments in gold, emphasizing the importance of this raw material for the country's security.
— We are striving to reach the level of 700 tons. Gold is the most valuable form of reserves that secures Poland – emphasized the head of the central bank.
From the data According to the World Gold Council, Poland ranks 13th in the world in terms of gold reserves.
The United States remains the leader, having gathered approx. 8.1 thousand. tons of this metal. The next places are taken by Germany with 3.3 thousand. tons and the International Monetary Fund, which has 2.8 thousand tons. tons of gold.
The top ten also included Italy and France (2.4 thousand tons each), Russia and China (2.3 thousand tons each), as well as Switzerland, India and Japan.
Poland is ahead of, among others, Turkey, which has accumulated 595 tons of gold, and the Netherlands with reserves of 612 tons.
