Only until June, Playmobil will produce its toys at the German plant in Dietenhofen. Notices of termination have not yet been given to 350 employees.

Our goal is to provide employees with an alternative and transfer to another company – says the management parent company of the Horst-Brandstaetter Group

For this purpose, a transfer company is sought that will ensure continued employment and assistance in searching for new jobs. This is a quite popular solution included in German bankruptcy law. As stated in the announcement, “the development of the social plan is already in its final phase.” This means that the process announced in February is proceeding as planned.

Playmobil is trying to reverse the bad luck that has affected children's tastes. As it turns out, series are not as eagerly purchased as they were a few years ago. During this time, the company lost almost a third of its revenue. However, as the company's president Bahri Kurter announced, It's not too late yet. The manufacturer intends to take advantage of the consumer tsunami associated with the FIFA World Cup by introducing figurines depicting famous soccer players. Their production will be carried out by plants in Malta and the Czech Republic.
