Almost 117 million rubles will be spent on strengthening the fight against dust in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk they are looking for a contractor to carry out dust removal work. The corresponding contract is posted on the government procurement website, its starting price is 116.8 million rubles.

The mayor’s office recalled that a separate set of works to reduce dust levels in the city has been carried out for 9 years:

“They are especially relevant after winter, when de-icing and friction materials were actively used on the roads, recommended by GOSTs, sand, industrial salt, as well as crushed stone, rock, granulate and other materials. They are mainly the cause of dust formation. In addition, construction and repair work is currently underway in Krasnoyarsk, which are also sources of dust. To reduce its level, a whole range of measures is provided: it includes watering, washing and vacuum cleaning. Such work will be carried out mainly in dry and hot weather using a separate contact. So, at temperatures above 25 °C Dust removal is carried out on all roads in the city. Particular attention is paid to streets where there is traditionally increased dust content, for example, due to the presence of dirt roadsides.”

The administration emphasized that dust prevention has already begun as part of routine city cleaning. Now there are special vehicles on the roads that clean and wash them using moisture.

Any warm day is used to wash bus stops, road dividers, decorative and noise barriers. ​As air temperatures rise, the volume of such work will increase. And in May-June, almost all city cleaning will be done using water, since during this period it is important to eliminate as much dust as possible, since when mixed with pollen it will cause great inconvenience, especially for allergy sufferers. It is noted that in late spring – early summer, each enterprise uses up to 100 tanks of water for washing.
