US President Donald Trump said that Iranian representatives called on Monday expressing their willingness to reach an agreement. He also confirmed that he had started a blockade of Iranian ports.

– I can tell you that the other side called us. They would really, really like to make a deal, Trump said during an impromptu and previously unplanned conversation with reporters at the door to the Oval Office. – The right people called us this morning and want to reach an agreement – he added.

The president stressed that he would never agree to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.

– If they don't agree to it, there will be no agreement. There will never be an agreement. Iran will have no nuclear weapons, and we will get this dust back. We will get it back, either we will get it from them or we will take it ourselves,” Trump said, referring to Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium that is underground.

Asked whether he would carry out his threat to destroy “the entire civilization” in the event of no agreement, Trump said he did not want to comment on it, but noted that “it won't be pleasant for them.”

Trump confirmed that at At 4 p.m. Polish time, the blockade of Iranian ports began and he announced that other countries would participate. He announced that he would name these countries on Tuesday, although he also emphasized that he did not need their help. In an entry on the Truth Social platform, posted just before his conversation with journalists, he reported that 34 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, the most since Iran closed the strait.

The impromptu press conference took place in unusual circumstances, as Trump was receiving a delivery of food from a fast food chain. It was a procedure intended to emphasize Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act eliminating tip taxes.
