Due to rising water levels in the Chulym River, the flood situation in the village of Krasny Zavod, Bogotolsky District, Krasnoyarsk Territory, has worsened. Regional rescuers reported this.
The day before, employees of the Achinsk search and rescue department arrived at the scene to monitor the situation and provide assistance to the population. On April 12, they transported 7 people in a rubber boat across a section of the road overflowing with water.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on the morning of April 12, the water level on the Chulym River near the village of Krasny Zavod was 638 cm, and continued growth was predicted. “The opening of the Chulym River in the Krasny Zavod – Novobirilyussy section may be accompanied by ice jams and a sharp increase in water level. Flooding of low-lying areas along the banks of the river is possible, and water may overflow onto the floodplain,” the department warned.
It is noted that regional and local authorities are keeping the situation under control.
