A pack of stray dogs attacked a 5-year-old girl in the village of Dikson, Taimyr district, Krasnoyarsk Territory. The prosecutor's office reported this.
It was previously established that the day before the father took his daughter to play at the playground and went to the store for a few minutes. At this time, three dogs attacked the girl and caused serious injuries, including to the head.
“A passerby drove the animals away and called my father. After first aid at the outpatient clinic, the child was taken by air ambulance to the interdistrict hospital,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Based on the incident, a criminal case was opened for negligence (Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Law enforcement officers will evaluate the actions of officials and regulatory authorities.
It is known that in 2024, the court ordered the local administration to catch ownerless animals from the streets, but the decision was not implemented. In February 2026, at the request of the prosecutor's office, the municipal budget allocated money for catching and organized competitions.
