Newly crowned champions of the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven did not take their foot off the accelerator and prevailed 2-0 on Sparta Rotterdam's field, in the 30th round of the Eredivisie. The Romanian international Dennis Man (27 years old), on his first career championship title, watched the success of his colleagues only from the bench.
PSV, victory in Rotterdam
Still under the euphoria of the party in the streets of Eindhoven, where they celebrated the mathematical title with the fans, the players trained by Peter Bosz authoritatively controlled the dispute at “Het Kasteel”.
Gasiorowski sent the ball into the net in the first minute, but the success was canceled by VAR for a handball in the preliminary phase.
The pressure from the visitors continued steadily. Ismael Saibari rattled the sidebar in the 21st minute and Ricardo Pepi wasted a huge opportunity 10 minutes later.
However, the insistence of the guests paid off just before the break. In minute 45+4, Guus Til provided a very good cross, and Ricardo Pepi scored with a header.
The final score was set in the 80th minute, when Ismael Saibari got his name on the scoreboard with a fine finish: taking over in the box after a lobbed pass from Driouech and shooting into the far corner, hopelessly for goalkeeper Joel Drommel.
Although he has been an important cog in the team's gear this season, Dennis Man was sidelined today, remaining an unused substitute throughout the game.
The former FCSB and Parma player, however, is living the best moment of his career, managing to add to his record the Eredivisie title in his very first season spent in the Netherlands.
PSV authoritatively dominates the championship, reaching 74 points, being already impossible to reach the top of the hierarchy.
For Dennis Man's team, the duel at home against those from Zwolle follows on April 23.
