“I didn’t want to return to my body.” Stories of Ukrainian stars who experienced clinical death

Ukrainian showman Viktor Andrienko experienced clinical death at the age of 22. He told the details in the summer of 2025 in an interview with Ukrainian presenter Slava Demin. According to the actor, the cause of clinical death was nervous exhaustion after a conflict at a theater institute. From the outside it looked like he had lost consciousness, but after that he was diagnosed with an ulcer.

“I was driven to the point. When my teacher said: “Vitya, who is this, you’re not even a Komsomol member,” my bar was blown,” said the showman.

According to the artist, he “just closed his eyes and flew away,” but came out of this state by remembering his parents.

Lyubava Greshnova

Ukrainian actress Lyubova Greshnova experienced clinical death during her student years. She spoke about this in an interview with Demin in December 2024.

“The first time it was in a student clinic. I had otitis media, I was prescribed a strong antibiotic injection. Or [врач] got it wrong. He injected it into me, and it was just clinical death, when everything turns off. He injected me with adrenaline, and it was some other trainee, because when I opened my eyes, I remember that his hair stood on end,” said the actress.

Greshnova noted that the second time she was saved by her neighbors in the hostel, when she was putting a drug in her eyes to which she was allergic.

“I left the room and lost consciousness,” she noted.

According to the actress, she was very scared the first time.

“It was like fast forwarding, very loud. It’s an internal discomfort. It’s like you’re standing in a loud room where 500 tracks are playing simultaneously quickly,” Greshnova described her condition. “But the second time the sensations were completely different. It was so comfortable and pleasant. There was a kind of bell. Everything was so bright, I was so warm, I felt so high that when they poured the drug into my eyes, I came to my senses and said: “Why did you do that, I felt so bad.” cool.” These are two absolutely polar stories.”

Kamalia

Ukrainian singer Kamalia was on the verge of life and death. She told Demin about this in August 2024.

According to the artist, she experienced clinical death when her kidney failed.

“I also had a clinical death. I had kidney stones since childhood. I continued to go to concerts. And the stone blocked my kidney, it failed. I spent two months in the clinic. I suffered so much,” the singer noted.

Kamalia admitted that after her experience she is not afraid of death.

“I didn’t want to return to my body. Nothing hurt me then – there was a feeling of weightlessness, that I was flying. Bliss,” she described the experience.

Anatoly Khostikoev

Ukrainian artist Anatoly Khostikoev survived cardiac arrest at the age of 33. He talked about this during an interview with the founder of the publication “GORDON” Dmitry Gordon.

The actor admitted that he suffered from double pneumonia and spent eight months in the hospital.

“In 1986, my heart stopped in the hospital. But my body was working! I knew: “Here’s the thing.” And that’s why when I’m suddenly in intensive care, I’m bleeding, and I want to go on stage, because I’m in a different state,” he shared.

Uncle Zhora

Ukrainian presenter and showman Uncle Zhora (Vadim Michkovsky) many years ago received 13 stab wounds in the heart during a fight. He told the Ukrainian presenter Alina Dorotyuk about this story in 2024.
