Genoa, the team patronized by Dan Șucu, won on the first day of Easter, at home, score 2-1, against Sassuolo, in a match counting for the 32nd stage of Serie A.
The “griffins” thus won for the fourth consecutive time against the same opponent, and interestingly, all the victories were achieved with the same score, according to sportal.blic.rs.
Genoa ended their two-match losing streak after Sunday's success as they took a major step forward in their fight to escape relegation, currently nine points clear of the teams in the danger zone.
Genoa, dramatic success at the end, in a tense match
The first half saw more than 20 shots on goal, but only one goal was scored in the first 45 minutes, in the 18th minute when Ruslan Malinovskyi put Genoa ahead with a superb strike from distance.
It was 1-0 at half-time, and the two teams came out of the dressing room with one player less each, as Domenico Berardi and Mikael Ellertsson saw the red card and were sent off for an altercation that took place in the tunnel.

The second half provided far fewer big scoring chances, but two goals instead. Sassuolo equalized in the 57th minute when Justin Bijlow parried Tarik Muharemovic's header from a corner, but Ismael Kone reacted quickly to score from the restart.
However, the hosts got the win in the 84th minute thanks to three substitutes. Junior Messias then broke into the box, where he combined with Patrizio Masini and then passed to Caleb Ekuban who, from close range, deflected the ball into the goal for the final score of 2-1.
After this match, Dan Șucu's team is in 13th place, with 36 points, 9 away from Lecce, the first relegable place in Serie A, with 6 stages left to play.
