President Nicușor Dan went on Good Friday to the Cornu monastery in Prahova county. The appearance of Nicușor Dan was presented by the president of the Prahova County Council, Virgiliu Nanu (PSD), who took a photo with the president and then published the images on his Instagram account.

“On Good Friday, at home, at the Cornu monastery, I had an unexpected meeting. Among the people, without notice, without protocol, I met Nicușor Dan. Discreet, natural, as should be any man who understands that the position does not separate you from people, but brings you closer to them”, wrote Virgiliu Nanu, the president of CJ Prahova, who is also the leader of the PSD branch, in the description that accompanies the images of Nicușor Dan.

One of the longest serving mayors

In one of the photos published by him, the PSD mayor of the Cornu commune, Cornel Nanu, is also captured, standing to the right of Nicușor Dan.

Cornel Nanu is one of the longest-serving mayors in the country, mayor since 1992. The mayor of Cornu is in his ninth term, elected with 87% of the votes in 2024.

“There were a few simple moments, in a place where the positions don't matter, but the silence and the meaning you find. In such moments you see more clearly what normality means: to be there, among people, not above them,” wrote Virgil Nanu, president of CJ.
