A 71-year-old resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was found with illegal weapons, ammunition and gunpowder

Police seized illegally stored weapons, ammunition and gunpowder from a 71-year-old resident of the village of Chelnokovo, Sosnovoborsky District, Krasnoyarsk Territory.
At the pensioner’s home, they found two smoothbore guns, a bolt from a Mosin rifle, 12 cartridges of various calibers, as well as 4 metal cans and a polymer container with gunpowder weighing more than 1 kg.
The man explained that he discovered the arsenal at the place of residence of his deceased father and appropriated it, keeping it in his closet.
A criminal case was opened against the pensioner under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of explosives or explosive devices.” Also, based on the fact of illegal possession of weapons, the issue of bringing the man to administrative responsibility under Art. 20.10 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
“Police officers urge citizens to promptly hand over illegally stored weapons and ammunition – this will free you from responsibility,” said the appeal of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
