A judge in Andorra has asked for the help of Spanish authorities to question the players to find out about the “acquisition, delivery and transport” of the luxury watches they purchased.
The names of the footballers involved are loud. We talk about Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Santi Cazorla (Oviedo), Giovani Lo Celso (Betis), Thomas Partey (Villarreal), Cesar Azpilicueta (FC Sevilla), Juan Bernat (Eibar) and Manchester City legend David Silva!
All would have bought luxury watches, brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe, which would have been smuggled in, according to Spanish publication elDiario.es. And now an Andorran judge, Joan Carles Moynat, has appealed to Spanish authorities to help question him about the “acquisition, delivery and transport” of the goods.
Suspect Diego GC faces 8 years in prison
The main suspect in this case, a certain Diego GC, he was remanded in custody in Andorra in Octoberand is accused of smuggling and money laundering. These offenses could carry a sentence of up to eight years in prison.
Diego GC is accused of “customs evasion” in respect of luxury watches, which basically means that he used various methods to avoid paying VAT on their sales.
Diego GC won through VAT deductions
The circuit would have been the following: instead of selling directly to the players, a Spanish company linked to Diego GC supplied the watches to an Andorran company in which he had a stake.

The subsequent sale was carried out from Andorra, with the judge suggesting that the only “plausible motive” for this operation was financial gain for the suspect through VAT deductions by both his Andorran and Spanish companies.
In addition to the seven footballers who purchased the watches, the judge also wants to question the seven Spanish natural or legal persons who sold the watches to the Andorran company, which then resold them to the players.
Diego GC imported 38 watches from Andorra, valued at 1.35 million euros
ElDiario also revealed that Thomas Partey spent the most on watches during that periodthe amount invested by the former Arsenal midfielder for the purchase of three Patek Philippe models amounting to 415,000 euros .
In total, Diego GC is accused of importing 38 watches from Andorra, valued at €1.35 million, but allegedly failed to declare these transactions to the authorities.
