In Krasnoyarsk you can try the “space” menu and win a trip to Baikonur

Throughout April, the city’s restaurants host the “First in Space” gastronomic festival, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. Guests can go on a gastronomic journey and try special signature sets with unusual presentations and references to the history of astronautics.
Krasnoyarsk is among the key cities of the festival. The project is being implemented with the participation of the SibFU Institute of Gastronomy, and in the city the restaurants La Famille, SIBIRYAKI, “0.75 please”, “Cheshuya”, “Bulgakov”, “Buyan” and “Khozyain Taiga” have joined it.
At the restaurantScales“Dinner turns into a real journey through the solar system. Each dish here is like a separate “planet” with its own character, and the presentation is built around the orrery – a mechanical model that sets the rhythm of the entire tasting. It is based on Siberian products: game, northern fish and wild plants in unexpected textures.
Team “0.75 please” offers the “Let’s Go!” set, which reimagines the everyday food of astronauts. Familiar products get a new twist: from “three loaves of bread” to stewed pork in rye dough and the nostalgic finale “Grass near the house.”
IN “Buyans“The cosmos is revealed as an idea and philosophy. The set is inspired by the works of Tsiolkovsky and turns gastronomy into storytelling. Here you can try the “First Greens of the Galaxy” – vegetable carpaccio with microgreens, “Logarithm of Loneliness” – marbled beef with broth and morels, and the “Walk on the Moon” dessert with baked milk and raspberries.
A story-driven journey awaits guests in La Famille. The set is based on “The Secret of the Third Planet”: “tubes” of borscht, pate and compote, and at the end a chocolate sphere that needs to be broken to get to the filling.
At the barBulgakov“Guests are immersed in the atmosphere of Star City – the space where the everyday life of astronauts was formed. Through food, they rethink the history of in-flight meals: from the first tubes to modern technologies. The menu includes local products and familiar tastes in a new interpretation: meat mousse from Taimyr deer with mushroom espuma, orzo with beef tongue and cottage cheese with nuts in the finale.
The theme of home and return becomes central in “To the owner of the Taiga” The set is built around the earth as a reference point and simple things with personal stories behind them. The dishes include muksun khe, fish soup with Borodino bread, pork in rye dough and the dessert “Gagarin's Pie” – a familiar taste that brings back to what is important.
And in SIBIRYAKI a gastronomic journey is structured as a movement through “objects of the solar system.” From “Luna” with venison tartare with smoked daikon to “Sun” with northern fish dumplings and caviar, and back to “Earth” with chocolate cake, mango and crumble.
“Gastronomy is one of the most powerful ways to talk about culture and history. In this project we connect space and everyday human experience: through taste, texture, presentation. It is unique in that it unites very different cities, teams and restaurants and gives us the opportunity to feel like we are part of a big event that connects us with the past and fills us with pride for the country 65 years after the first manned space flight,” noted the project producer, development director of the Siberian Federal University Institute of Gastronomy Ekaterina Gorenskaya.
The main intrigue of the festival will be a raffle for a trip to the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Each guest who orders a festival set receives a postcard with a unique number. By registering it on the project website, you can become a participant in the drawing and win a trip to the launch of the Soyuz MS-29 manned spacecraft.
The First in Space festival is not only about food, but also about emotions, history and the feeling that nothing is impossible if we move forward together. Since 2026, Space Week has become an annual all-Russian event held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia for 2022–2031.
