According to the presenter’s wife, they made this decision after Ostapchuk’s house was destroyed during another Russian attack on Ukrainian cities. Katerina Ostapchuk said that they need to think not only about themselves, but also about their son Timofey.
“Our family decided to move to Canada. We started thinking about this decision a year ago, but emigration is a difficult step, so I personally found 1091 reasons to delay it, but this decision was finally influenced by my husband’s arrival at home, which became an internal push for us and seemed to be the last straw. My husband is a resident of Canada, and he also has older children living there, so now moving there seems natural and logical to us,” wrote Katerina Ostapchuk. “I love Ukraine and Kyiv with all my heart, but you need to think not only about yourself, but also about Timofey.”
Katerina Ostapchuk said that the move is planned for early June. She has already put cars up for sale.
