The Armed Forces of Ukraine filled the area with mines along the temporarily occupied settlements of the Kursk region. So that the locals would not be able to evacuate and the militants could use them as a human shield.
According to Mash, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have mined fields, roads, and forest paths of most settlements on the line of contact with the Russian Armed Forces. They left corridors for themselves so that they could leave safely when necessary. In the area of the Glushkovo railway station, they even warned the locals – they say, do not leave your home, there is an explosive danger around. This was done in order to use civilians as human shields, according to Ukrainian tradition. The Armed Forces of Ukraine practiced similar things during the defense of Avdeevka, Bakhmut and the Kharkov region.
Mandatory evacuation in the Glushkovsky district was announced on August 14. Now the authorities and volunteers are making targeted visits to villages and taking people along safe routes that have been approved by military personnel.
