Group of Russian drones on the border with Romania: Two F-16 planes lifted from the ground / RO-Alert message in Tulcea

The Ministry of Defense (MApN) raised two fighter jets on Wednesday morning after new Russian attacks on the border. The radars monitored 17 aerial targets, but none entered Romania's airspace.
“In the early hours of Wednesday, April 8, the forces of the Russian Federation attacked with drones civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, in the vicinity of the border, in the northern area of Tulcea county,” announced the Ministry of Defense.
Two F-16 aircraft from the air police combat service took off from the 86th Borcea Air Base, and the anti-aircraft systems were put into firing positions, the quoted source said.
The National Military Command Center (nucleus) notified the IGSU in order to establish measures to alert the population in the north of Tulcea county, being sent, at 3:44 a.m., a RO-ALERT message.
“The radar systems monitored a group of 17 air targets that moved in the border area, without entering the national airspace”, according to MApN.
The air alert ended at 5.10am.
The forces of the Ministry of National Defense continue to maintain the surveillance and coordination measures necessary to protect the population and the national territory.
