The president of the CFR Cluj club, Iuliu Mureșan, addressed the statements that the team's coach, Daniel Pancu, had barely made in the subsequent flash interview draw with the University of Craiova0-0.
Asked about his professional future, if he will continue at CFR or leave for Rapid, Daniel Pancu made a submission to the recent statements of the president Iuliu Mureșan and the financier Ioan Varga. Iuliu Muresan was confronted with Pancu's words and offered his own version:
“The situation is as follows: Pancu has a contract that says this – if the team qualifies for a place in the European Cup, it is extended by two years and increases by several thousand euros. The contract is clear, it is automatically extended.
Pancu said that one million percent remains if there will be more financial stability and if it is resolved with the training base. And we want to, we do our best. He said it a month ago and he's still saying it. We want to have financial stability. Regarding the base, we have a rented base, it's OK, but it's far.
It would be normal to have much closer. We should have two, three training fields, but unfortunately we don't have them. We have performed well in recent years. Nothing was given up, nothing was discussed about giving up anything to leave. I hope we finish at least in 3rd place, or in second place, then we will discuss and see”.
In the intervention on the show “DigiSport Special”, Mureșan also assured that “I did not have any discussion with Edi Iordănescu, I did not speak with any other coach”.
As for the draw with the leader Universitatea CraiovaMureșan stated that “today, Daniel Pancu chose to play with three defenders and it turned out well. We kept losing the matches with them and he said he wanted to play in the mirror. They played well and had no opportunities. We had opportunities, they didn't have any. I think they set out to play to a draw, a point was enough for them. If we wanted more, we had to win. Unfortunately, we didn't succeed”.
