According to media reports, against the background of these statements, calls for impeachment or application of the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution have intensified in the Democratic Party. It provides for the possibility of the president being temporarily removed by the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet if “he is unable to perform his duties,” followed by confirmation by Congress.
The media quotes Congresswoman Yassamine Ansari (Democrat from Arizona), who was the first to react publicly, even after Trump threatened Iran with “hell” on Easter Sunday, April 5.
She noted that the 25th Amendment “exists for a reason” and the US federal government must use it. According to Ansari, in the balance is “the fate of American troops, the Iranian people and the very foundation of the US global system.”
US House of Representatives member Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) called the situation “unacceptable” on Network X and Trump himself “unbalanced.”
“Invoke the 25th Amendment. Impeach. Fire. This unstable lunatic must be removed from office,” Omar writes.
This is not ok. Invoke the 25th amendment. Impeach. Remove.

Following this, a number of House Democrats joined calls for the 25th Amendment.
In particular, Mark Pocan (Democrat from Wisconsin) also said that Trump is too crazy “to have nuclear codes.”
Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan, called the US president a “war criminal”, recalling the bombing of an Iranian girls' school.
“This maniac should be removed from office,” Tlaib wrote.
After bombing a school and numerous young girls, the crime fight in White House is threatening genocide.

Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.) noted that “the fate of millions of innocent civilians” now depends “on the whims of a sick man.”
“It makes me sick… This is pure evil. Republicans, if there was ever a time to rise up, it is now. We must invoke the 25th Amendment before it's too late,” Kamlager-Dove said.
I'm sick to my stomach. The notes of millions of foreign civilians now depend on those who are spies and demented people. This is pure evil.
Republic, if they were before the time to pass, it is now. We should boast the 25th domination after this. https://t.co/8yaadX6TKk

Also joining these calls for impeachment are Diane DeGette (D-Colorado), Sri Thanedar (D-Michigan), Melanie Stansbury (D-Missouri), Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Maxwell Frost (D-Florida), Julie Johnson (D-Texas), and Johnny Olszewski (D-Maryland).
Axios also quoted Congresswoman Sarah McBride, who stressed that Republicans must join Democrats in using all constitutional tools to stop the “illegal war.”
At the same time, Illinois Congressman Seth Magaziner noted that the president's allies must recognize his growing “unpredictability and danger,” stressing that “the country needs new leadership.”
According to Axios, sources close to congressional Democrats said lawmakers are discussing coordinated actions ranging from trying to force an impeachment vote to calling on the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment. At the same time, as the publication emphasizes, these discussions have not yet reached the leadership of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives.
The White House, according to the publication, called these calls unacceptable. Administration spokesman Davis Ingle said Democrats are “weak and ineffective” and their ratings are at historically low levels.
Axios also writes that individual Republicans reacted to the situation. Congressman Don Bacon said Trump is “negotiating in his own style.” And former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also said that he was crazy and called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked.
