On April 6, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (Madyar), reported that the Admiral Grigorovich warship, which was stationed in the port of Novorossiysk, came under attack.
At the same time, the CyberBoroshno Telegram channel immediately refuted this information, noting that in fact this ship is part of the operational unit of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
Later, Madyar corrected himself in his message and confirmed that another ship came under attack – namely the frigate Admiral Makarov. The GORDON publication collected important facts about the ship, which is “in fact the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.”
On April 7, in the “Passionate Season” report on his Telegram channel, Brovdi formulated the consequences of the SBU operations more carefully – in these messages the name of the affected warship was not mentioned.
On the same day, the CyberBoroshno surveyors, after analyzing satellite images, came to the conclusion that during the attack on Novorossiysk on April 6, the frigate Admiral Essen was hit again.
“The identification is confirmed by two indicators: the characteristic white color of the radars, characteristic of the Essen, in contrast to other frigates of Project 11356R, and also the fact that the Admiral Makarov, after the attack, remained in the same place as it was after the previous attack,” the Telegram channel said in a statement.

“Admiral Essen” is one of the frigates of Project 11356R “Admiral Grigorovich”. Naval News calls them the most combat-ready ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet after the Ukrainian defense forces destroyed the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva. Each of the frigates can carry up to eight Kalibr-type cruise missiles, which the invaders use to fire at the territory of Ukraine. The ship was previously damaged in an attack in October 2022.
On March 2, 2026, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with other units of the defense forces, again attacked the frigate Admiral Essen in Novorossiysk. The ship was damaged in the superstructure area, which affected a number of key combat systems and significantly limited its ability to use Caliber cruise missiles.
