The US vice president arrived in Budapest on Tuesday on a two-day visit to support Orban ahead of Sunday's parliamentary elections. In the first half of the day, he took part in a joint press conference with the Hungarian Prime Minister, and then addressed the crowd gathered in a conference hall in the center of the Hungarian capital.

At the beginning of his speech, he called President Trump, telling him “you are on the line with five thousand Hungarian patriots and I think they love you even more than Viktor Orban.” – I don't believe it, I don't believe it, because I love Hungary and I love this Viktor. He's a fantastic guy, we have a great relationship. He's doing a great job,” Trump replied.

– I am a fan of Viktor, I am on his side, the United States is with him – he emphasized.

The US vice president then noted that “we must get Orban re-elected as prime minister.” – I'm not here to tell you what to do. I am here in the spirit of our friendship to offer some observations about our common civilization and how to advance it. You have boldly developed it in recent years with Viktor Orban at the head of the proud Hungarian nation, he said, addressing the crowd.

– Both our countries face a threat from within. I'm talking about the far-left ideology spreading in academic circles, the media, entertainment, and the bureaucracy. They see the foundations of our civilization as unfounded. They see no proud tradition in Western history, only injustice. In borders they see exclusion and racism, in Christianity they do not see freedom but oppression. And in the family (they see) limitations, Vance calculated.

– Some of them call themselves feminists, pretending to protect women. But it is their policies that have led to an explosion of immigrant violence against the very women they claim to care for, he added.

Speaking about the Trump administration's attitude towards Europe, he emphasized that “We love Europe and that is why we reject nameless bureaucrats who would skyrocket the prices of your energy and open your borders to millions of unverified foreigners in the name of progress.”

Earlier, during a press conference, Vance accused “Brussels bureaucrats” of trying to “destroy the Hungarian economy (…) because they hate” Orban. – What is happening before the elections in Hungary is one of the worst forms of foreign interference I have seen or read about, said Vance.

During the rally, he said that it was in Hungary that he “sees real progress being developed by Viktor Orban.”

– You have a choice. Either you bow to tyranny or you stand proud with St. Stefan (patron saint of Hungary – PAP) and you will choose a real leader this weekend – said the American vice president, causing the audience to chant: Viktor, Viktor, Viktor!

– Will you rise up against the bureaucrats in Brussels? Will you rise up for sovereignty and democracy? Will you rise up for Western civilization? Will you rise up for democracy, truth and the god of our ancestors? – he asked those taken away, who answered each question with a loud “yes”.

– So, friends, go to the polls on Sunday and stand by Orban's side, just as he stands by yours. God bless Hungary and the USA, concluded Vance.

Parliamentary elections in Hungary will be held next Sunday, April 12. The opposition Tisza is ahead of Prime Minister Orban's Fidesz in most independent polls. In Median's March survey, it received support of 58%. among decisive voters, and Fidesz – 35 percent. A survey by the 21 Research Center on April 1 showed that Tisza had the support of 56 percent. decisive voters, and Fidesz – 37 percent

Polls by centers linked to the government indicate that Orban's party has an advantage of several percentage points.
