The program of three -day competitions in a facility called an ice ribbon, known for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, includes three main categories: sports competitions, shows and script competitions.

Competitions inspired by traditional human sports will assess the athletic capabilities of robots. They include runs over 100 m, 400 m, 1500 m, 4×100 m relay, running through fences at 100 m, long jumps and upwards, as well as martial arts and football matches in 2, 2, 3 and 5 for 5 for formats.

As part of the shows, the robots will present themselves individually and in groups in choreographic dances, presenting advanced motor coordination.

The script competition, which is – as the organizers emphasize, the heart of the event will focus on the practical applications of robots. They relate to activities performed in factories (transport and sorting of materials), hospitals (sorting and distribution of drugs) and hotels (guests and cleaning service).

Every robot, from several dozen centimeters to about 1.8 meters high and participating in the competition, must meet certain criteria. These include Independent development by the display team, having a torso, upper limbs and two feet, as well as their own power source. Remote or fully autonomous control modes are permissible.

Parallel on the margins of the main competitions there are competitions of non -Humanoid robots in badminton, basketball and table tennis.

During the opening ceremony, the leitmotif of which was the combination of the spirit of sport, technology and culture, people and robots performed together. In addition to dance shows and elements of Chinese tradition, he played a team of five music robots. There was also a fashion show with the participation of a Chinese actor and model Hu Bina, who, as he himself said, was honored that he could be the first man on the catwalk alongside humanoid robots. One of the people from the audience loudly admitted that looking at the way of moving robots, Hu bin does not have to worry about a job.

According to the Beijing authorities, which are the organizers of the Games, who are guided by the slogan “towards a common intelligent future”, these competitions are a milestone in the development of robotics and are a platform for presenting progress in the field of artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics.

The games are part of the dynamic development of the Chinese robotic industry. In January, the first training center for humanoid robots was launched in Shanghai, and in April the world's first half marathon with people and this type of robot took place in Beijing. A global robot conference – WRC 2025 – was also held in the capital of China between 8 and 12 August. In parallel, Robot Mall was opened in the city, the first store in China offering a wide range of consumer robots.
