The Ministry of Defense is preparing the launch of the Volunteer Graded Soldier program. “The conditions offered are of a high standard”

The Minister of National Defense (MApN) announces the final preparations for the Scheduled Voluntary Soldier Program, for the year 2026, the training of approximately 3,500 young people is planned.

According to a post by the MApN, the Minister of Defense Radu Miruţă, together with the Chief of the Defense General Staff, visited the 265th Military Police Battalion on Tuesday, one of the military units where the training of soldiers and volunteer graduates will be carried out (SGVT).

According to the quoted source, the objective of the program is to form a young and well-trained operational reserve. Depending on the results obtained, young people will be able to opt for a military career.

“We want through this program to train not only well-trained soldiers, but also citizens prepared for the current challenges. SGVT represents an investment both in the defense capacity and in the resilience of the Romanian society”, declared the Minister of Defense Radu Miruţă.

How many young people will be trained this year?

In the year 2026, the Romanian Army offers modern conditions of accommodation, feeding, training and physical training, says MApN.

“The infrastructure of the units has been modernized, and the conditions offered are of high standards. We made sure that the accommodation, feeding and training facilities meet the requirements of an effective training process and adapted to current realities,” declared the Chief of the Defense Staff.

Following the approval of the budget, MApN started the approval process of the normative acts necessary for the implementation of the SGVT program.

For the year 2026, the training of approximately 3,500 young people is planned, the MApN states.
