Following a hint from JD Vance, what the White House says about the last option against Iran: nuclear weapons

The White House categorically denied on Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance's statement about military operations in Iran contained any suggestion that the US would use nuclear weapons in an attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, reports AFP.
After Vance claimed that US forces had tools they “have not yet decided to use,” followed by a dramatic ultimatum from President Donald Trump, the White House wrote in a post on social media X: “Absolutely nothing the vice president has said here 'suggests' that, you buffoons.”
Literally nothing @VP said here “implies” this, you absolute buffoons https://t.co/7JU3wXMaWX

The White House's post was in response to a message published on an account associated with former Vice President Kamala Harris, which said Vance had suggested in a speech that Trump “might use nuclear weapons.”
“JD Vance persists and confirms after Trump's new message in which he says that 'an entire civilization will die tonight' and suggests that Trump may use nuclear weapons,” read the message to which the White House responded.
Earlier in the day, during his visit to Hungary, Vice President JD Vance said the United States had “tools it has not yet decided to use” against Iran, but he was “confident” that negotiations would avoid using them.
“The United States has largely accomplished its military objectives,” Vance told reporters in Hungary, adding that “there will be a lot of negotiations” before the U.S. ultimatum expires overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
“They need to know that we have tools at our disposal that we have not yet decided to use. The President of the United States can decide to use them and will decide to use them if the Iranians do not change their behavior,” JD Vance added in his speech.
Trump's newest threat
The leader of the White House launched his harshest threat against Iran on Tuesday, amid the ultimatum addressed to the regime in Tehran.
Donald Trump has again warned Iran to strike a deal, saying “an entire civilization will perish tonight” if no deal is reached to end the conflict.
“An entire civilization will die tonight, and it will never be brought back to life. I don't want it to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have a Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something wonderful revolutionary can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption and death will finally end. God bless the Great People of Iran!”, Trump wrote in a message published on his social network, Truth Social.
Earlier, Trump issued an ultimatum to Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
On Monday, the US president said that “the whole country can be wiped out in one night, and that night could be tomorrow night.” He said he would destroy Iran's power plants and infrastructure if Tehran refused to accept a deal before the deadline.
The ultimatum expires Tuesday at 8:00 PM EDT (3:00 AM Wednesday) in Romania.
Trump said that if Tehran does not capitulate in the next four hours by midnight EDT (07:00 on Wednesday), “every bridge in Iran will be destroyed” and “every power plant in Iran will be decommissioned, burn, explode and never be used again.”
