On April 6, a traditional campaign to restore cleanliness after winter began in Krasnoyarsk – a two-month spring improvement and gardening campaign “For a clean city, clean Siberia.”
This year it will be held for the first time simultaneously throughout the entire enlarged urban district.
“All city services that are involved in cleaning and landscaping are starting to work in a special mode,” the mayor’s office says. — Environmental and educational events will coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. “Clean Fridays”, cleanup days, master classes, and eco-tours are organized in every district of the city. As part of this work, the banks of reservoirs, springs, areas near cultural heritage sites and religious buildings, forests, parks, etc. will be put in order. A separate area is the elimination of advertising of narcotic drugs. International friendship clubs, young environmental workers, young people, public youth and patriotic organizations, students, environmental activists, families with children, and participants in a special military operation will be involved in the work.”
All infrastructure facilities will also be put in order – monuments will be refreshed, street furniture, road barriers, stops, traffic lights, and road signs will be repaired and cleaned. With the onset of warmer weather, events will be held to plant trees, clean up city graveyards, “Week of Remembrance”, etc.
The most massive event of the two-month event will be citywide cleanup day, which is scheduled for April 25. When cleaning up, the main attention will be paid to undemarcated areas adjacent to wastelands, small rivers, the private sector, dacha areas, etc. It is in such areas that the help of volunteers is needed.
In addition, Krasnoyarsk will join the All-Russian week of cleanup workers “We are for cleanliness,” which will take place throughout the country from April 18 to May 3.
