Some PLL LOT flights on the route from Warsaw to Uzbek Tashkent have been suspended, according to the aviation portal Pasazer.com. According to the editorial team's unofficial findings, LOT may be intentionally blocked by the Uzbek authorities so that Uzbekistan Airways can obtain a larger number of slots in Warsaw.

The portal reports that most of LOT Polish Airlines' flights to Tashkent have been excluded from sale, and the flight scheduled for April 3 has been canceled. “After receiving conditional approvals, LOT is to operate two additional flights on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, and the next flight available for sale is only on April 11. Problems with regular operations to Uzbekistan also occurred in March,” writes Pasazer.com.
“The beginning of the problems of the Polish line coincides with the moment of granting slots (assigned time slots in which the plane is allowed to take off or land at a given airport – PAP) at Chopin Airport for the Uzbek carrier Uzbekistan Airways. He received the right to perform one rotation a week at Okęcie in Warsaw” – writes the portal. According to unofficial findings of the Pasazer.com editorial team, LOT may be intentionally blocked by the Uzbek authorities in order to obtain a larger number of slots in Warsaw for its national carrier.
PAP asked LOT spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski for a comment on this matter.
We do not comment on this matter at the moment, he replied.
PLL LOT will launch a connection to Tashkent in 2024. The carrier has so far operated up to four flights a week on this route.
The main shareholder of PLL LOT is the State Treasury, which holds 69.3%. shares; the second shareholder (30.7%) is Polska Grupa Lotnicza, 100% owned by to the State Treasury. (PAP)
