Changeable weather during the Floriilor weekend: from code yellow rains to unusual temperatures

The Flower Weekend brings extremely changeable weather. If on Saturday we experience rain and electrical discharges, on Sunday there will be unusually high temperatures for this period, meteorologists said.

The National Meteorological Administration has issued a yellow code warning of heavy rainfall for Saturday, April 4, valid until 18:00. The regions of Oltenia, Muntenia, Moldova, Dobrogea and some areas of Transylvania are targeted.

Thus, in the mentioned interval, the precipitation will have the character of showers and will be accompanied by electrical discharges and hail, warned ANM.

In short time intervals, or by accumulation until the end of the interval, the water quantities will be 20…30 l/m2 and isolated 40…60 l/m2. In the Southern and Eastern Carpathians, it will temporarily snow and a layer of snow will be deposited with an average thickness of 10…20 cm.

As for temperatures, the maximums will generally be between 15 and 19 degrees, and the minimums will be between 0 and 10 degrees, lower in the depressions in eastern Transylvania, towards -3 degrees. At night, there will be fog and isolated mist in places.

In the Capital, the sky will be temporarily cloudy, and during the day there will be showers, possibly accompanied by electrical discharges. The wind will blow weak and moderate. The maximum temperature will be around 16 degrees, and the minimum 5…7 degrees.

The weather improves on Sunday, the day of Flowers

According to meteorologists, the weather will be mostly fine and will warm up on Sunday, especially in the south of the country where daytime temperatures will be slightly above the norms for the period in most regions.

The sky will be variable, and completely isolated, there will be light, passing rain conditions in the hill and mountain areas. The wind will blow weak and moderate, with slight intensifications at high altitudes in the Eastern Carpathians.

The maximum temperatures will be between 15 and 21 degrees, and the minimum will be between -2 degrees in the depressions in eastern Transylvania, where there will be fog, and 10 degrees on the coast. In the morning and at night, there will be fog in small areas, in low-lying areas.

In the Capital, the weather will be beautiful and warmer than usual on this date. Skies will be variable and winds will be light to moderate. The maximum temperature will be 20…21 degrees and the minimum 5…8 degrees.
