“There are still two, three acquisitions to be made”

Iulia Curea (43 years old), the second coach of CSM Bucharest, and Aurelia Brădeanu (46 years old), the new team manager of the Romanian champion, talked about the victory of the “titroaice” against HC Zalău (39-20)about the seasonal goals and the collaboration with Bojana Popovic, but also about the transfer campaign for the 2026-2027 season.

On Monday, December 29, CSM Bucharest achieved a clear victory over HC Zalău, score 39-20, in a match from the 10th stage of the Florilor League. Bojana Popovic, the new coach of the team from Capital, has not yet received her work permit in Romania, so Iulia Curea was on the team's bench.

The second coach of CSM Bucharest and the Romanian national team managed the game well, gave minutes to all handball players and achieved the 10th victory in the championship.

The former handball player revealed that she does not know when the documents will be obtained for Popovic and spoke about the partnership with the coach from Montenegro.

“The collaboration is good. From the beginning I was asked if I would stay and stay by her side. We work together. For now it's been a few days. It's ok so far,” Curea explained.

“The goals have not changed, they are the same. We want to take it step by step, win every match, finish in a good place in the Champions League and, of course, win the championship and the Romanian Cup,” added the 43-year-old coach.

At the end, Curea said that CSM Bucharest still needs a few players for the next season and that some of the transfers have already been made, but they have not been announced. “There are two or three more purchases to be made. They are (doormen) on the list, they are still being negotiated, I haven't exactly received an answer“, she declared.

Asked about the return of Dragana Cvijic, who, according to GSP sourcesagreed with CSM Bucharest, Curea denied the information: “No, the problem was not set to return. As far as I know, no.”

Aurelia Brădeanu, the new team manager of the “tiger girls”, stated that the team's objective is to reach the performances of the past.

“I think the goals were set before the start of this season and we will certainly strive to fulfill them all because we want people to be as satisfied as they have been so far,” Brădeanu added.

At the moment, CSM Bucharest is in 2nd place in the Flower League, with an immaculate record (10-0), and in 5th position in Group B of the Champions League, with only 8 points.
