A vengeful Zheleznogorsk drug agronomist burned a foreign car that almost hit him and got caught

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police quickly uncovered the arson of a foreign car and discovered a drug laboratory in the defendant’s apartment.

The police said that the duty department received information that a Haval F7x car was on fire in one of the courtyards of Zheleznogorsk. Experts estimated the damage at almost 4 million rubles and determined that the cause of the fire was arson.

Suspicion fell on a 37-year-old local resident. He was detained and taken to the police department.

“The defendant confessed. He explained his action as a personal insult and revenge for the road incident. According to the man, the day before the specified car almost hit him at a pedestrian crossing. Angry, the Zheleznogorsk resident followed the foreign car to the yard where it was parked. Later, he took a container with a flammable mixture from his garage, returned to the car, set it on fire and fled the scene,” the press service said.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional destruction or damage to property.”

“As part of the criminal investigation, operatives conducted a search at the suspect’s place of residence. A “surprise” awaited the police in the detainee’s apartment: the man turned out to be not only a vindictive pedestrian, but also an underground agronomist. In the living quarters, drug-containing plants in pots, special equipment for cultivation, and ready-made narcotic substances of plant origin, packaged in matchboxes, were found,” the police explained.

All finds were sent to the Forensic Expertise Center for chemical examination. She confirmed that the seized substance was marijuana weighing more than 22 grams. After this, another criminal case was opened against the Zheleznogorsk resident – under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “b”, part 3, art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt at illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs.” Criminal cases are combined into one proceeding. A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen against the suspect.
