Canadian Denis Shapovalov (26 years old, 26 ATP) and Swedish Mirjam Bjorklund (27 years, 744 WTA) were married after an engagement over two years.
Tennis players Denis Shapovalov and Mirjam Bjorklund had an outdoor wedding at Lesante Cape Hotel in Zakynthos (Greece), overlooking the ionic sea.
At the wedding festivities, which lasted four days, the closest friends and family members participated, a total of only 30 guests. “It was truly as wonderful as we imagined when we chose slant as a host for our wedding. The weather was incredible and every moment was perfect. It was the most beautiful beginning of our marriage and we are very pleased to spend the rest of our lives together ”Mirjam said for People magazine.
Denis Shapovalov, former Top 10 player, added: “It was really special. Every day spent in Zakynthos with our friends and our close family was more beautiful than we could imagine and I am very happy that I married my best friend in such an incredible setting.”

The place was chosen especially because it was one in which the couple had never been. The bride wore a dress without the straps created by the Ukrainian designer Milla Nova.

“When I stepped on the road to the altar, I felt calmer than I expected. I was very excited to marry Denis. He is my best friend and, when I looked at all the guests, I felt butterflies in the stomach of what was going to happen,” said the bride for Vogue, who had the two.
The groom, excited, agreed, adding: “I thought I would be nervous at this moment, but instead I could not hide the smile on my face. Mirjam came out showing absolutely gorgeous in her dress. It is the greatest joy I have ever felt in my life.”
The couple first met in 2019 at the Stockholm Open, and in 2023 the two tennis players engaged on a beach in Băstad, Sweden.
