An unknown girl called 68-year-old Vladimir Chirkin and told him about a cool opportunity to edit his story in an online encyclopedia. She suggested removing the lines that in 2008 he received $20k for “solving problems”; seven years later he was convicted.
It turned out that he was deceiving the bribe-giver, since he did not have the authority to keep his promise. The lady promised to remove it from the Internet. To do this, you had to install the application on your mobile phone. Chirkin believed, did everything he was told, and then discovered that 435 thousand rubles were missing from the account.
Previously, another commander of the Russian Ground Forces and Deputy Minister of Defense in 2003-2004, General Nikolai Kormiltsev, was deceived in a similar way. He gave 400k to the scammers.
