Referee Robert Avram (37 years old) was officially appointed the new manager of the FC Argeș team.

The last match of the “central” in the Superliga was on October 18, 2025, in the victory of Metaloglobus against the champion FCSB, score 2-1.

After a career of almost 20 years in refereeing, he retired and was presented as the new manager of the Pitesti team. However, this is not the first contact with the administrative area. Avram was part of the structure of AJF Argeș for many years, where he took care of the administrative-financial part.

FC Argeș strengthens its administrative structure by co-opting Robert Avram as Manager.

Originally from Ștefănești (Argeș county) and with a career of over 2 decades in Romanian refereeing, Robert Avram is making the step from Superleague refereeing to sports management, bringing to Pitesti the rigor and experience he has accumulated at the highest level. Aged 37, he did his junior training at FC Argeș, under the command of teacher Mihai Ianovschi.

His career in arbitration began in 2005, naturally and methodically going through all the stages of affirmation: 2011: Promotion to the 3rd League; 2013: Promotion to the 2nd League level; 2025: Debut in the Super League (since 2021 he has refereed matches in the first league). At the same time, in the last 4 years, Robert found himself in the management structures of the Argeș County Football Association.

Who is Robert Avram?

Robert Avram entered arbitration in 2006 and promoted to League 3 after four years. The debut in the Super League came in 2021, in the match Academica Clinceni – Rapid, score 2-3.

Since then, he managed five more games in the first league, including matches of teams such as Dinamo, CFR Cluj or Rapid. The last appearance was quite a reference: Metaloglobus – FCSB 2-1, one of the big surprises of the season. In the current season, he also refereed in the Romanian Cup, in the duel Dinamo – Metalul Buzău, score 1-0.
