3 April 18:20
Newslab conducted a survey and found out how Krasnoyarsk residents and residents of the region escape ticks.
Voting took place on the website of the online newspaper. The survey revealed that most respondents (57.4%) buy insurance against tick-borne encephalitis every year.
- 13.2% respondents do not understand how one can be afraid of arthropods;
- 9.3% They believe that the main thing is to dress correctly;
- 8.5% not only take out insurance, but also get vaccinated, and also try to avoid potentially dangerous places;
- 6.2% buy insurance, get vaccinated and at the same time walk anywhere;
- 5.4% They use only repellents, believing that neither insurance nor vaccinations are needed.
Let us remind you that since the beginning of the season in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a woman and a 12-year-old girl have suffered from tick bites. The tick removed from the woman was sent to the laboratory – the causative agent of tick-borne borreliosis was found in it. But the tick that was removed from the child was not a carrier of infections.
Epidemiologists remind: with the onset of the tick activity season, any trip to nature, visiting parks and cemeteries must take preventive measures and use protective equipment.
“Use repellents, wear covered clothing, inspect yourself and children every 20-30 minutes during walks, and if you find a tick, try to immediately remove it and save it for research. Make sure you get vaccinated if you haven't already!” — Rospotrebnadzor gave recommendations to Krasnoyarsk residents.
