Washington, accused of disrespect by one of its Eastern European allies. “To be consulted not only when problems arise”

The United States showed disrespect to the other NATO member countries by declaring war against Iran without consulting them beforehand, a senior advisor to the Polish president said on Wednesday, reports AFP, taken over by Agerpres.
“The situation in the Middle East, which results above all from the decisions of Israel and the US, could have been the subject of prior consultations with allies within NATO,” said Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Office of President Karol Nawrocki.
“If our ally on the other side of the Atlantic wants European help, a minimum of respect would require that he consult upstream and not only when problems arise,” he added to private radio station ZET.
In the same statement, Przydacz asked the European countries of the North Atlantic Alliance “that have the means, for example the states that have a large fleet”, to support the American ally “as quickly as possible”.
“Because if we, the Europeans – that is, America's closest allies – do not help the Americans, it will be difficult to expect support from them in return,” emphasized the Polish official.
US President Donald Trump reproached some European members of NATO, including France, Spain and Italy, for not authorizing the overflight of their territories in the war against Iran, launched by the US and Israel on February 28.
Trump also said he was seriously considering withdrawing the United States from NATO after the allies refused to support US military action against Iran, according to an interview with the Daily Telegraph.
Trump described the alliance as a “paper tiger” and said the US withdrawal from the defense treaty was now “beyond reconsideration”, the paper reported. He said he had long had doubts about NATO's credibility.
