FC Argeș is preparing its strategy ahead of time in case Dani Coman will step up to the leadership of the LPF in the 2027 elections and moved to the administrative area. The people of Pitesti have appointed a new manager, and the choice is Robert Avram, Superliga referee.

The “Central” decided to retire from the activity at only 37 years old to start a career in the management of the club. Avram, who also managed the surprise of the first part of the season, Metaloglobus – FCSB 2-1, confirmed the decision and explained that he felt it was time for a new step in his career, after years in which his promotion to the highest level of arbitration was delayed.

Born in Pitesti, Robert Avram refereed several matches in the first league, but chose to give up the whistle to become the manager of the club in the play-offs. The last match at the “center” was the surprising victory of Metaloglobus over FCSB, score 2-1.

In a dialogue granted to golazo.ro, Avram explained that the decision came against the backdrop of a stagnation in his career as a referee and an opportunity he did not want to miss.

“Refereeing built me as a person, for 20 years I respected it and received respect, in turn. I refereed the first game in League 1 3 years ago, but officially the decision to be promoted kept getting delayed. You know how it happens, the older ones need to leave the refereeing, only then is there room.”

About the step taken and how he ended up in the leadership of the Pitesti club, Robert Avram explained that the decision came as a result of the trust received from the management and the mayor:

“The great trust I received from Dani Coman and the mayor of Pitesti convinced me to take this step. I had no connection with FC Argeș until now, absolutely none. But the mayor has very good references about me and has given me this trust, and I see this step as a stage in my development.”
