Macron: A military operation to unblock Hormuz is unrealistic

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday in South Korea that a military operation to unblock the Strait of Hormuz is unrealistic. In his opinion, it would be too risky and would take too long.

– This was never an option we considered and we consider it unrealistic – said the French president.

The US wants European countries to help unblock the strait, closed to navigation by Iran due to the US-Israeli attack on that country. The strait is of great importance for the transport of oil and gas from the Persian Gulf countries. (PAP)
