Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Selemenev has died

Honored Artist of Russia and director Sergei Selemenev, who served at the Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater for 30 years, has died. A. S. Pushkin.
The sad news of the artist’s untimely death came on April 1. In this regard, on April 2, the theater canceled the performance of the play “The Quiet Rustle of Leaving Steps,” in which Sergei Selemenev played the main role.

Sergei Selemenev was born on April 17, 1961 in Zheleznogorsk. In 1982 he graduated from the theater department of the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts (course of People's Artist N.I. Basin). In the same year he began working at the Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin.
In 1987–1988 he was a teacher of the Actor's Skills course at the Krasnoyarsk Academy of Music and Theater. In the period from 1985 to 1989, he founded and directed the studio theater “On Mira Avenue”. On August 10, 1989, he was transferred to the Riga Russian Drama Theater. He worked as a teacher of the “Actor’s Crafts” course at the Riga Conservatory.
On September 12, 1993 he returned to the Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin to the position of actor, from December 9, 2005 transferred to the position of actor and director. Staged performances: “Ku-ka-re-ku!” (V. Moskalenko), “Top Hat” (Eduardo De Filippo), “The Wizard of the Emerald City” (A. Volkov), “Biloxi Blues” (N. Simon), “The Adventures of Leopold the Cat” (A. Hight), “Baby and Carlson” (A. Lindgren), “Happy Birthday, Yaga!” (S. Selemenev).
He also worked as a director at the Krasnoyarsk Musical Theater and the Achinsk City Theater.
