Spectators suffered massive eye burns at the Abakan cinema

In the Republic of Khakassia, a criminal case has been opened regarding the improper provision of services in a cinema on Taras Shevchenko Street in the city of Abakan.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of November 3, during a session in a small hall, as a result of exposure to light from a bactericidal lamp, part Spectators, including children, suffered eye burns.





Immediately after watching the film, 15 people, including 8 minors, sought medical help. Later, the number of victims increased to 33. In total, there were 70 spectators in the cinema hall during the ill-fated session.

“The victims were provided with the necessary medical care and outpatient treatment was prescribed. ABOUTnor recognized as victims in a criminal case regarding the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers (Part 1 Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and will soon be questioned about the circumstances of the incident. As part of the investigation, examinations will be carried out to establish the severity of the harm caused to health and other necessary procedural actions,” the Investigative Committee said.
