Why are we writing about this?

On the evening of Monday, March 30, Israel passed a law establishing the death penalty for Palestinians from the West Bank convicted of terrorism. The law requires the death penalty by hanging to be carried out within 90 days of the military court's verdict, without the right to pardon, but also allows for life imprisonment to be imposed instead of the death penalty.
