What the authorities established in the case of the little girls from Târnăveni found after more than 24 hours. A social survey follows

The police from Târnăveni notified the Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Mureș to carry out checks in the case of the two girls from Târnăveni, Rebeca and Melisa, aged 4 and 5, found by a forester more than 24 hours after reporting their disappearance.

“Police officers from the Târnăveni Municipality Police notified the Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection, to carry out specific checks, according to their powers. Also, the Mureș County Police Inspectorate is continuing investigations to accurately establish all the circumstances in which the two minors arrived in that area, with a view to taking the necessary measures”, the Mureș County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) announced on Tuesday, in a statement press, quoted by Agerpres.

“The separation of children from the family is not required”

“We carried out an initial assessment. They are part of separate families, only they live in a common yard. They were discharged from the hospital, presenting no complicated medical causes,” stated the spokesperson of Mureș Child Protection, Doru Constantin, quoted by Europa FM.

At this stage, the girls stay with their families.

“At this moment, it is not necessary to separate children from their families. I assume that it was a case of negligence. We are collaborating with the local public authority, which will send us proposals. A social investigation is coming,” said the spokesperson of Mureș Child Protection.

Found by a forester 4 km from the town

The two missing girls from Târnăveni, on Sunday, were found alive by a forester, Aurel Frandeș, from the Luduș Forestry, in a wooded area, about 4 kilometers from the town, in the Dâmbău village area, after they got lost and spent the night in the cold.

To find the two girls, four RO-Alert messages were issued, additional forces were mobilized consisting of policemen, firefighters, gendarmes, rescuers and volunteers from the local community, and a helicopter, ATVs, tracked vehicles, drones and tracking dogs were used in the operations.
