MTS analysts studied the fleet of mobile devices in the region and assessed the technological readiness of the region for the introduction of new generation communications.
As of December 2025, the share of smartphones supporting promising 5G frequencies was 35%. Over the year, the figure increased by a third – from 24% in 2024. Thus, every third device in the MTS network is already technically ready to work in fifth generation networks.
The Krasnoyarsk Territory showed the highest level of equipment with such devices in Siberia. At the same time, the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets region is among the leaders throughout the country – 46% of smartphones there support 5G. In neighboring regions, the figures are lower: in the Novosibirsk region – 33%, in Omsk and Tomsk – 32% each. On average in Russia this figure is 37%.
The most popular brand of 5G smartphones among MTS subscribers is Apple, accounting for more than half of the devices. A fifth is from Samsung (20.1%), every tenth gadget is from Xiaomi (11.3%). The ratio of brands has remained virtually unchanged since the beginning of last year.
